This is an in-depth introduction to Photoshop CS5 for photographers. You will learn the most commonly used commands and techniques to improve images and also how to utilize some of the more creative effects. This course will be of more benefit to you if you have access to a computer with Photoshop inside and outside of the class in order to practice the skills you will learn.

Learn which format is best for saving your photos: JPEG, TIFF, PSD, PDD, BMP, PNG.  Understand which format is best for what and explain why. Also, when saving [JPEG], a box comes up asking if I want to save it in Baseline, Baseline Optimized, or Progressive.

 

  • Resolution, Image Size and Printing :

Understanding Resolution which is the measurement of the output quality of an image, usually in terms of samples, pixels, dots, or lines per inch. The terminology varies according to the intended output device. PPI (pixels per inch) refers to screen resolution, DPI (dots per inch) refers to print resolution. What is (hi-res) or (low-res).

Understanding what is RGB and color correction techniques and tutorials and for correcting color and adjusting tone. Learn how to correct for inaccurate color, color casts, overexposure, and underexposure.

Sharpening in Adobe Photoshop CS5 will allow you to select the precise amount of sharpening and the areas of the image that require sharpening most.
